  • when it can do something that is not just automating a simple task, but it’s capable of doing things that humans are no

No, credit when credit’s due, LLMs have arrived (by themselves) or helped to arrive at some mathematical conclusions, didn’t they?

A few of Erdős, some others.

Yes, it’s, a very small subset (duh), out of god knows how many they tried, and achieving the solution is made via technique called “infinite monkeys typing out Hamlet”, but credit when credit’s due (unlike LLMs that don’t properly attribute parts of the proofs).

  • Anthropic claims that Mythos has low low low hallucination rate of just 40% in its System Card.

LLMs outputting code solving this exact task is a compound function of luck, with non determined a priori chance of success and unknown a priori cost.

This is my main disappointment with agentic coding. Prompting is fine, quality assurance is there from the start. Greenfield, couldn’t care less. Established enterprise code? This is a minefield.

If the tokens were 10 to 100 times cheaper, then it would be a maybe.

I also hate how it makes half of my senior engineers dumber.

  • Same.

Cachy is my intro to linux distro world and so far I love it. I spent an hour to set it up, then a day to host all that I wantrd, then maybe… 30 minutes maintenance since April?

My only gripe is that I don’t know the Linux too well, so I sometimes struggle with it - e. g. I selfhost on my minipc a dedicated Satisfactory server ans I had to turn off wifi power protection mode (or smthing like that) to have stable ping.

I am pretty sure that this is something that Linux could’ve detected for me and asked me “hi, I’ve noticed you have regular long term many sources incoming/outgoing sessions, with your wifi power settings the connection quality might be suffering”.

  • Suppressing all conflicts is not good for ya. Instead of preserving peace, habitual avoidance you’re peddling makes people unable to recognize healthy disagreement and instead makes them think it’s all fighting to be winning, stunting growth of all involved.

    Something you may find helpful

You should’ve taken your own advice then, and asked if you can “mediate”, because you think it might be helpful.

Pushing your “mediation”, especially framed as an advice, is just feeding your ego, “winning” in a conflict your not a part of.

    Anyway, good luck, have fun.

If you show that message with that ending to a random passerby, and ask them if you just wrote “fuck you”, or was genuine, what do you think said random passerby would think?
