I am right there with you. I am not pro-AI either. For non critical projects, I am less against it than for something like core systems, kernel, and such. It is great for log analysis. Taking tons of data and reporting back information I would rather not skim through line by line.

That and like you said, let’s take ethical and environmental concerns out for this. Because those are a whole other issue.

I think if it is used like a tool, and we can get it’s environmental impact under control it can be great used like the tool it is.

They aren’t without controversy. Toxic workplace allegations, false/inaccurate hardware reviews, and I’m sure there are more controversies I am sure. Linus also seems a little bit Dickish too.

It is very click-baitybas many others have said. I can’t expect them to be the most knowledgeable on everything (or anything…) But watching their Linux videos they’ve been releasing have been nothing shy of facepalm after facepalm. Sure, there are a few useful nuggets of info in there but I wouldn’t take anything they say aa gospel.

Hey glad to hear there are people comfortable using it and aren’t still sketched out. As the communication to the change was rather alarming. And since then I had not used it, as I am one of those folks that appreciate transparency. It does build trust.

Had it been handled differently, such as Catfriend1 putting out a statement leading up to it; I would have been much less apprehensive. Granted it was catfriend1’s project, and they are free to do what they see fit with their project; but it does burn trust with the folks using it if handled such as the way it was.

After quickly spinning up a container of it; it feels very unpolished and can’t say it will replace Bitwarden/Vaultwarden for me.

We dont know each other; but I am in that camp. Been using Arch for years. I enjoy it very much so.

I like having as many apps accessible via the browser as possible. Makes it portable for me.

No matter how many machines, experience is the same. With these apps, I can allow other users access.

Its accessible through my phone as well that way.

And if I ever have to reinstall my OS its quicker because of less that I need to install. And on top of that I only update that one container vs updating every machine I have a program installed to.
