I used to be of that mind as well. But the newer models are just too good to deny it any longer.

Yes I agree, and honestly code review is now the key skill.
My company recently started exploring “AI interviewing”, to test candidates on “AI proficiency”, and the questions are all around prompt engineering (is that even a thing anymore?) and stuff. Like no, make sure they can read the fucking code!

Opus-class and higher models are actually great at writing code, but maybe it’s language dependent? I primarily work in TypeScript.
I remember when he got sued for copyright infringement or something ridiculous and it was big news
So collecting a browser and some terminals on a desktop and then having a different desktop with a browser for another purpose doesn’t work.
Not sure when the last time you used it was, but this works fine. I regularly have 2 desktops for VS Code, 3 with Chrome instances (across multiple monitors), and 2 with Firefox.
The biggest weakness IMO is that the entire OS is designed around touch gestures. If you want to use a mouse, your experience will just be worse. But even the touch stuff is lacking options, so you have to use third party things like BetterTouchTool.
A pumpkin is a berry?!
Yeah I just want JSON with optionally quoted keys, and comments.
I think the attitude definite changed. If your computer crashed, it used to be like “pretty please send us a crash report? It will help us figure stuff out and we promise we’ll be good with your data 🥺”, and now it’s like “I will collect OUR data all the time. If you want to disable this feature, run this archaic registry command, and even then I’ll still ask repeatedly. Oh, and I’ll turn it back on a few months anyway. Fuck you”

My understanding is that Facebook’s culture is very cutthroat. Throw other people under the bus, try to make your rivals’ project fail, do a huge unnecessary refactor to “make a name” for yourself, that sort of stuff.
Also switched recently.
A big surprise for me was my printer. On Windows, I had to install the printer by downloading some POS software that needed to run on startup and would nag me with ads about ink and shit.
On Linux, it was just…there. Already ready to print, nothing to set up or install or do.

My understanding is that it’s only slightly slower: the OS maintains a pool of zeroed pages anyway, so it’s not like your program has to iterate over all the addresses and write to them.
But it’s been a long time since I’ve done any C/C++ so I could be wrong.

TLDR use calloc instead of malloc

if they’re both paid the same hourly rate?
That’s the fun part: you only have to pay them for 40 hours!
BJ fucking slaps, throw me in the dryer
In a level-headed frame of mind, punching an ICE officer is not a good idea. They’ll just use that as fuel to further “crack down on antifa” or some other bullshit, and you will end up in some sort of ICE torture prison without having really achieved anything.
But fuck, seeing that video makes my blood boil.
Holy shit that poor woman. And how those onlookers were able to maintain their composure and not punch him in his fucking face is pretty amazing.
Games where you flick discs into holes on a wooden board
Darts? Pshaw, that’s so 20 years ago. Make a crokinole or carrom room.
What are you trying to have it do? I work in a very large and complex codebase, and it honestly scares me sometimes.
