Technology@lemmy.world•Meta's AI Data Center Caught Infecting Town Water Supply With Deadly BacteriaEnglish
6·2 months agoI think the problem is that if the water got hot enough to kill the bacteria, it would mean the computers were running at temperatures hot enough that it would damage components on them (or at the very least reduce the lifespan of them).

You can see bait and acknowledge what it’s trying to do without engaging with it on its artist’s terms. Do you disagree with the above commenter’s assessment? You seem really stuck on a specific point, trying to paint people as offended when it’s really just a matter of identifying what’s there.

That is because nearly all of nvidia’s revenue comes from AI datacenter hardware now, and before that from crypto miners. As long as CUDA works without issue, their main clients by dollar volume are happy

63·1 year agoIt’s not about getting rid of cars entirely. It’s about prioritizing other modes of transport that are more efficient at moving people for 90% of daily trips they need to make.
Cars will still exist, they will just not be most people’s first choice for going to/from places. Ideally they exist more as a tool for specific situations where needed, such as work that covers a broad/rural area and requires large/specialized tools.

Games@sh.itjust.works•As the Elden Ring DLC beats the snot out of players, Hidetaka Miyazaki says toning difficulty down would "break the game itself"English
0·2 years agoI mean, bosses input reading my heavy attack to suddenly turn their three move combo into a four move combo 50% of the time feels a bit lame. For instance the dancing lion suddenly going into the spray carousel after it would have exhausted its combo and rested otherwise. My main issue is on the inconsistency.
Don’t get me wrong, that fight was really fun and I overcame it, but there are many such cases where it feels overtly like the game just threw in the extra attack as a “fuck you” while trying to learn the mechanics. There might be a subtle cue to the boss’s body language I didn’t see but there’s also the issue of the camera in encounters with large enemies.
On the whole though, as frustrating as it may be at times, often there’s still an underlying pattern. The only fights I think are explicitly unfair are the ones with adds or multiple enemies that add a lot of uncertainty especially if some are off camera. The twin gargoyle fight comes to mind, as does the Godskin duo where you explicitly have to kill both around the same time or the other respawns.
