That would mean killing the entire internet whose servers run Linux, because the kernel is messing with AI now.
So, this is the place where I’m going to be generally hanging out and trolling around, while my Pixelfed, Mastodon, and Blacksky accounts are going to be primarily art posting accounts, and I also have a Nooki account.
I’m also going to start to be active more on here than on lemmy.org, so I’m making this my primary Lemmy account now.
I’ll link the other socials I’m varying levels of active on below, plus my lemmy.org account which I’m demoting to my secondary account if that instance is going to be more unstable from now on.

Don’t do this, just run a Linux distro if you don’t run anything that’s vendor-locked to Windows by DRM.

If you’re a creator who still primarily or exclusively posts to Twitter after Nitter was killed off, you’re not gonna have an audience outside of Twitter anymore moving forward. Meanwhile Mastodon will let people see or even interact with your content without a Mastodon account as anyone can see a public post without an account, period, and anyone with an account on any ActivityPub or ActivityPub-compatible platform can interact with Mastodon posts.
If you want to post your own content on a public instance, you do need an account for that, though, or you can self-host.
But basically, if you’re still posting exclusively to Twitter, you won’t have an audience outside of Twitter anymore, while someone on PIxelfed could interact with a Mastodon post or vice-versa, for example.

You think Meta is generating most of it themselves to intentionally stoke Islamophobia? They’re evil enough to do that and they have a past history of this sorta thing.

Hypothetically a given public media service could host their own Fediverse instance if they can afford to maintain it, and they should if they can pull it off.

Maybe the reason Mastodon never got off the ground is because Bsky basically strangled them by popping up out of nowhere and stealing their potential userbase?

Beyond that, the fact that Bsky came up out of nowhere and ate Mastodon’s lunch around that time just reeks of hostility to me.

No, AFAIK they still push ads on you whether you’re monetized or not.

As Google intended.
Someone could just read into it regardless of what OS they’re on and decide from there if they want systemd or not.
I can’t use Linux, it’s too hard!

How soon before the rest of the web chases ad blockers away?

Redlib still works, but it’s read-only (not a problem for me, I killed my Reddit account last year), and it’s probably a matter of time before that’s killed off too.

Did those users not hear they can dodge Age Verification by using a different Bluesky compatible app?
And beyond that, it’s not like you can’t migrate to Blacksky or another third-party PDS, or even host your own PDS if you have the hardware and admin chops for it, although you can also self-host on the Fediverse too, and there’s thousands of instances on the Fediverse vs. a handful on ATproto, plus other than Blacksky who are supposedly completely independent from Bsky’s corporate infrastructure, most third-party PDSes and pretty much all self-hosted PDSes still have to interact with Bsky’s corporate infrastructure at some point where if you host a Fediverse instance, you own the whole thing.

If Bluesky dies and the users go back to Twitter, they never believed in anything more than ‘I want to be part of the herd.’

That’s the whole idea. Buy up all the silicon production, go public, tank and take the rest of the tech industry down with you, and rule the world.

Once again, thanks Madoff Altman for buying up all the chip supply just to monopolize it. I’m never gonna let that go, and Altman can go straight to hell for that shit.

Wanna bet Meta bought the lawmakers off?
