Even more weird: what I read (twice in a row) was “Jonah is not W in it”.
As another non-native, I just thought it’s some slang I don’t know yet.

I’ve finally made the switch about a year ago. The only thing I still need Windows for is VR, which I seldom use.
Whenever I boot into it, I always get a little nauseous thinking how this used to be the norm for me.
Thanks, I’ll try that! Does it even save if the PC freezes solid? Because that’s what usually happens.
Mine breaks on its own once I sit down with my food to watch some videos.
I fucking swear it knows when I’m eating.
I probably have a faulty CPU, though. I wish there was an easy way to tell (after several flawless RAM tests and two different GPUs),
Had there not been a change of regime, we could have had an alternate future with that getting censored.
As a non-native speaker, it has always been weird to me, but this is still considered a normal, grammatically correct conversation:
You still wouldn’t say “me am going to buy glasses”.
While “I and a friend” seems to make more sense to me, considering all the weird stuff present in English, I’m fine letting this slip.
Around the selfish gene. The thing that guaranteed we survive and “emerge” became the guarantee our own combined greed and lack of empathy will be our undoing. You or I might be fine making sacrifices for the betterment of humanity; the ones who are the end result of aeons of racism, aggression, selfishness and hubris will make sure that their selfish genes get passed on, they gain wealth and power, and they ignore everyone else around, except maybe the closest friends and family. Even when they are actually burning up the planet in the process.
This is how it has worked since the dawn of humanity, even before that as animals. Most mammals ostracize their peers with albinism, leave behind or eat the weak, and the greediest fledgling will become the largest one.
We are past that. We don’t need this behaviour anymore. Survival isn’t an everyday challenge for the most of us. But similarly to leg hair, the tailbone or your ability to move your ears, they can’t just disappear as quickly as the environment, circumstances and society have changed around us. Little children are still mostly suspicious with strangers, or people who look different from what they are used to. Our built-in vestigial BIOS settings are also the reason those greedy, aggressive human fledglings are eating up everything from others, shitting the nest, and ruining the planet for everyone.
I think there isn’t a definite point where we’ve gone wrong. It’s been a looong process.
It’s a bit like -er. It can be used for objects, as well. Based on the word, it can end with ó or ő.
Vezet (drive, lead, etc) -> vezető (driver, leader).
Hűt (cool [verb]) -> hűtő (cooler, fridge).
Üt (hit) -> ütő ([sports] bat, [sports] paddle).
Olvas (read) -> olvasó (reader).
Úsz(ik) (swim) -> úszó (swimmer, fishing float).
All these might also mean -ing (as in, the continuous participle, NOT the noun), depending on the context.
…which sounds surprising to me, because AFAIK Polish also has separate he/she words (on/ona).
Neither does Polish. I know at least one polaka who confuses the/a(n) 15% of the time.
You were so close. I just fold it back so that the end of the tape sticks to itself on the last 2mm. Next time you need it there will be an easy to find tab.
Nope: ‘the tea is bisexual’ -> ‘a tea biszexuális’.
Weird stuff about Hungarian: we don’t use a form of ‘be’ when saying name+(is)+adjective. If you want to say ‘Jucika is modern’, in Hungarian you just say ‘Jucika modern’.
In this case (since they are written with different fonts) you can consider the two words as main title - subtitle, as the post title says.
They, however, also work as a full title, meaning ‘Jucika is courteous’.
fuck the meet industry
It all started going downhill with Zoom.
Fucking Instagram and their Web interface. Try to get the maximum video size on a horizontal screen. Bonus points when a horizontal video is uploaded to their vertical frame optimised viewer.
I did the math before: it was literally less than 1% of my screen. There’s no full screen feature.
Not like it cost them even a measurable amount of money to have one developed. They keep it awful intentionally to get you to install the app. Fuck companies like that.
It definitely still exists, maybe even popular. It might be just my subjective observation, but it feels like it used to be (even) more popular.
Praise, sibling.
