Aliexpress is NOT a pile of garbage. Retract your words! I’m aliexpress’ number 1 defender!
No but for real, nowadays amazon is much worse.
Average torrenting enjoyer.

I use grayjay on my phone, and casts the videos via fcast.

Just checked on aliexpress : a 3rd party battery with hundreds of positive reviews is 29€.

Personally, I’ve had zero issues with nvidia drivers on arch, but I’m using a fairly recent gpu (3 years old rtx 6000), and for the flatpak issues, yeah that can be a bit more space (+time) used, but its a runtime that will be used by all future apps you’ll download, so eh, tradeoff

Good to know that void worked out for you, but I’m using linux for ease of use, and arch is plenty easy to use for me after all these years, so I’m gonna stay here lol
And I hate appimages, flatpaks are much better (when paired with a good and fast app store, like Bazaar)

I have 9gb to download to update my arch system. At this point it isn’t even a rolling distro anymore 😭
And they’ve been pumping out weekly linux videos, I think, so that helps draw attention too
Hes been using for about 3 months, if I remember correctly

Oh damn, this is already pretty complete. Tested on android (smartphone) for now. Will test on android TV, as that’s my main content consumption device.
Nice to see syncplay already implemented, and (!) youtube too somehow?!
For now, I think the most prominent improvement i could think of is the implementation of libass for the subtitles; as right now they seem rendered plainly, meanwhile anime episodes often leverage complex .ass suptitles that support styles, ecc

For the music collection’s size, you could look into navidrome and have your server host your stuff, and your phone will just be streaming it.
But maybe this isnt a solution for everybody

Whoa, that’s cool. For the power-ing on, I know that its possible to do via bleetooth, my steam deck does it.

That’s cool that you’re using it as a nas, and I’m glad it’s working out for you
Myself, I want something easily controllable from a remote, so that when I come back from work I can just relax without seeing a keyboard and having to work with a pc.
I tried Librelec and lineageOS TV into a mini pc, but they all had various quirks, so I’m sticking to my TCL for now.

I want my tv to turn on instantly; not to wait for a pc to boot, have to log in, and only then opening my streaming app. Such a hassle.
I personally have a tcl with custom launcher, debloated the most I could, on a network with adguard, streaming only from jellyfin (Wholphin client) and Navidrome (Chora), and sometimes Youtube (Grayjay). I click the power on button, it instantly turns on into Wholphin most often, then I click the play button. Litterally 2 seconds. What’s the big deal? Ok, it still has traces of google and other stuff, but it sounds like a decent compromise. Ofc, if someday somebody out there makes a custom rom I’ll be the first one to install it, but until then…

Aahhh i see, in that case, replave for them the default gallery app icon with immich; they won’t notice :D

Why set&forget? You never open your gallery?

Works just fine for me in iOS 26. Altought sometimes it doesnt do it automatically in bg and I have to open the app

Wait, what
I’ll have to test this
Sorry for not being able to help

Ahahahahhahhaah
How you gonna watch the nfl then??
