  • For modern pex plumbing, there are a few different techniques but the easiest for a home owner would be using metal crimp rings and a hand crimp tool which runs about $100. Thats probably the same or less than the hourly rate of a plumber. Plus with modern plumbing measuring doesn’t need to be as precise and you can literally just bend the pex to make awkward angles. Even easier than that are push fit fittings. No special tools required but each fitting is more expensive than traditional pex fittings. The biggest benfit of push fit fittings is they can join different types of pipe together, such as copper to pex.

The most important parts of the plumbing code are related to drains, this is to ensure proper drainage and to prevent backflows of sewage into the potable plumbing or accumulation of sewer gases inside the home.

Each industry will have its own jargon, and most industries can be well researched, but as you mentioned when it comes to legal stuff it can be region specific and may extensively rely on previous court rulings. Thats where a good lawyer really makes the difference.

A good plumber and a bad plumber can both replace your sink, the good plumber will likely be cleaner and neater, maybe make it easier to replace again, but both should get the job done. A good programmer could code something to be much more effecient than a bad programmer. A good lawyer versus a bad lawyer could have a much more significant difference in their outcomes.

  • Home repairs like that are clear and researched enough that you could reasonably do them yourself with the right resources and effort. Average folks can look up and understand most building codes because the language is clear, concise and specific, whereas legal language is much more nuanced and broad. Previous court cases are often used to determine what the law should be interpreted as where as you don’t need to go measure your neighbors house to get the right stud spacing. The plumbing code is not as debatable as what constitutes as manslaughter.

  • They will provide you with a free lawyer if you are defending yourself from a crime you’ve been convicted of, otherwise you are on your own. For example I was sold a house that is on a septic tank and that was never disclosed to me upon purchasing. It is now on me to source and pay for a lawyer to sue the guy who sold me the house, especially since said septic system doesn’t work and is backing up. Part of the suit is to cover my legal fees, but i actually have to win to get that covered.

As i guy it has been told to me numerous times to look for that. Guys make the first move in terms of interest and asking the lady, the ladies usually make the physical touch first move as a sign they are comfortable and to give the guy a chance to advance their moves.

Always ask for consent but the above has been pretty normalized.

Yea the land is better off when pigs are free range and able to spread their fertilizer a bit better, but the pigs produced per square foot of land is much less and thus increases the prices, as well as additional labor to care for those pigs versus a factory farmed setting. If every pig on earth was raised that way at current demand we would need a significant amount of more deforestation to allow grazing room and prices would increase significantly as well.

Edit: ill also add that just visiting the farm doesnt pain the full picture. The pigs may still be fed some feed, which is cropland that could have been growing planta for direct human consumption. You also don’t see other impacts such as pig shit liquifiying and flowing into a local creek during periods of high rainfall.

  • That surplus is factored in to the companies making money and providing consistant demand. Prices will increase if the treatment gets better because the capitalists and oligarchs will not willingly take a profits cut. The surplus waste in the current system could be utilized better, for example fast freezing and being provided to food banks or soup kitchens.

No matter how you cut it, if labor and land demand increases, the price will increase.

  • The better treatment balloons costs by requiring more land and more care, which significantly inflates the cost of the final products. This could be an effective measure for reducing meat consumption by people buying less to save money, many people would be against those increases.

Its just like mass produced clothing. Since they dont see the abuse and destruction, they are satisfied with the lower prices at the store.

  • Maybe biased here but as a 30 year old man, i get more sleep now but am still more exhausted than when i was in my 20s. Life, work, and stress all take their tolls.

Some things that may help you as they help me when I’m low on energy.

    • yoga or exercise. If I’m having a slow start to the day this can really get my blood pumping and wake me up better than sitting on the couch and drinking coffee. It also helps mid/late day. An early evening walk can counter intuitively increase my energy and motivation. The yoga is espcially nice on my days off where i just can’t get my day started.

    • a healthy diet/eating regularly. If I eat like crap i feel lethargic. If i eat a lot of sugar the crash afterwards is rough. Regular meals made with real ingredients, even if I’m not feeling that hungry, helps a lot. Reducing processed sugar and increasing fruit in my diet helped a lot. Now a pack of strawberries will actually give me a bit of a sugar buzz.

    • consistent sleep schedule. 8 hrs of sleep at a different time each week is not nearly as restful as 7 hours at the regular times. Sometimes im up late or up early due to how my work day or personal life went but most days i try to sleep and wake at the same time. If my alarm is set for 6:30 and i woke at 6 feeling okay, ill often feel better getting up at 6 than i would snoozing til 6:30. If I’m not tired but my bedtime is 9, i try to go to bed anyway. I’ll read a boring book or something to help me get to sleep.

From your other comments I’m also thinking you may have fried your bodies natural energy levels and homeostasis from excessive caffiene intake. It will suck for a few days/weeks but i would try to quit cold turkey and see what comes of it. You can work your way back up to caffeine if you feel comfortable later on.

A different drug but similar effect, i will often take tolerance breaks from marijuana as i find the benefits i get from it diminish with excessive use, the same is true for many drugs.
