Fahrenheit is demonstrably better for describing temperature as experienced by a human.
It’s just not though. F uses a wider range of numbers to describe common outside air temperature, but more numbers =/= better.
I’ve lived in both F and C countries and farenheit is not easier, more intuitive, more sensible or better in any way. A number is a number. The extra precision of F is not super useful - no one can really feel a 1F difference. The freezing point of water does make a huge difference, so knowing above/below zero C is useful, but above/below 32F is no harder.
This argument that F is somehow more suitable for human temperatures is something you see online, but as someone comfortable with both i can say there is functionally no difference, except that metric is compatible with the rest of the world.

Every other light bulb joke i hear, the number is arbitrary - it could be 10/100/1000 with no loss to the joke. But “none” and for that reason is the only possible correct answer to that joke.
I would guess that B is the “correct” answer because it shows you’re old enough to know a sex joke when you read one.

Sometimes we have to wake up and throw a tennis ball for her. She’d grab the ball and keep barking for ages, but at least that way it was like a trumpet with the mute in and we could all get back to sleep.

Solo is not an independant mercenary. Solo is a beefy heavy gun type.
It comes the tabletop rpg. If you make a combat character who’s powerful enough to solo the enemy with minimal help from the rest of the party, that’s a solo. Rocket launchers, HMG, weapons with kinda broken rules, heaps of hit points, etc.
I’m summarizing my understanding of these panpsychism type theories.
I think part of the idea of this theory is that much of life shares the key elements that make up the scientific definition of consciousness.
I personally don’t see value in preserving the popular definition of consciousness as the human soul, but regardless of personal takes i hope we can agree that scientific theories should be based on the scientific use of the term.
People stretch the word “consciousness” to include things like free-will, human-level intelligence, articulating an understanding of the world, having ideologies, etc.
It’s very close to the classical greek word ψυχή, soul, from where we get psyche. And very close to how many christians have understood “soul”.
But often scientific inquiry leads us to realize how fictional and self-serving our understandings are. Souls aren’t real and consciousness in the brain is just an information sorting process.
Much of life may exhibit that process to some degree. Unsurprising, really - information sorting as complex as ours should have precursors.
Yeah there’s a big difference between 70 and 80 for sure.
80+ is still is a ‘sometimes and small amounts’ thing for me, but many 70s and anything <60 taste just as sweet as milk chocolate to me
Maybe 2 years ago my partner had to explain to me that most people actually prefer milk chocolate, so when i buy dark chocolate as presents it’s not actually appreciated.
I’ve always preferred dark chocolate because it’s just so obviously better, and presumed everyone else did too. Finding out that most people like worse chocolate was quite a surprise🤷
I work with a deaf schizophrenic person and they talk (write, sign) about their “mind being quiet” or being “way out of my mind”. When clearly experiencing symptoms they’ll often look, sign, yell or kick at a specific area but can’t really detail what exactly’s happening in those moments.
In my experience the behavioural elements of schizophrenia would be hard to miss, i doubt visual vs non-visual hallucinations would change that.
My understanding is it can be hard to narrow down schizophrenia vs other diagnoses, but it’s usually obvious that something is going on. I’d think if people were looking for blind schizophrenia cases they’d at least have a pool of likely candidates to look into.
I’m instantly skeptical of “no blind schizophrenics” but it’s just gut. I can’t think of any explanation.
