Honestly, if it doesn’t involve practical satelites, rockets, or somehow harvesting more raw solar energy or something, fuck the space tech and the space race. It is a fucking waste of resources built on romanticizing breaking away from Earth. It’s not happening. Travel times are too long and fuel costs too high. There is nothing particularly useful on the moon. There is nothing particularly useful on Mars. And before anyone suggests the bullshit that is terraforming, how about we start with terraforming our own planet and unfucking deforestation, desert expansion, melting ice caps, etc.

Part of me wonders from time to time how the game is doing. But I played enough of it at the time that I’m pretty done with it. Was a Swain main. I got Lulu when she came out and then I think I left a little after that.

I am happy to see 40K finally get the Total War treatment, but fuck man, no way is my PC gonna run that and I am not in a position to be getting a new one. Future goals I guess.

Huh. I had previously joked about UAE buying up Ubi, but it’s Tencent. Huh. Bet they’ll put out a bigger China themed AC than whatever that China episode is on the market (haven’t played it, know nothing about it, never got into AC.)

I have zero interest in any of Ubi’s IPs but I’m kinda curious how this’ll go.

Being an astronaut was defo something I idolized as being a kid. Then I got older and realized what it’d take to actually live that life, and the risks involved in rocket travel, and things like muscle dystrophy from being in zero G too long. Not to mention all the schooling and training needed. And it’s all for… not much, really. Like, at the end of the day, space travel does not actually help humanity that much. Now, satellites have certainly changed things a shit ton, but like, we’re not going to other planets anytime soon. We’re not gathering resources from other planets. We’re not terraforming. Our “going to outer space” is parking your ass in a station in orbit and living with reduced QoL while you run experiments in zero-G. Just like, nah, fuck all that noise.

We/they are. So maybe we don’t pay then. I’ve never asked. We just have the premium package, so I assumed we paid.

I use this at a center I volunteer at that works with the mentally disabled. Unsurprisingly, a lot of those people are old. Surprisingly, Canva is simple enough that I’ve been able to train the elderly, of all people, to use the program to make fliers or three-fold pamphlets for themselves. It’s a good program for what it does, and the center pays for a premium subscription, so it’s not something I personally need to worry much about.

Honestly, I’m fine with this in terms of the program’s functionality, as long as Canva does’t fuck with its user interface. It is pretty simple and intuitive, and I’d argue that the UI is quite possibly one of its strongest assets, seconded only by the massive amount of options/elements you can add to your project. And it’s already apparent what AI is mostly used for within the program: making more graphic elements to slap onto your page, and more ready-made templates you can still go in and alter everything in at-will. And honestly, I’m fine with that.
