6·1 month agoThey gatekeep windows 11 from older devices, what did they think would happen? I tried Linux on my thinkpad yoga, and the drivers are so shit i had to switch back to windows on it, and no, I’m not throwing away a perfectly good laptop!

1·2 months agoBecause it’s faster to speak than type, but reading is more practical than listening, especially if taking information is your main focus.
It’s scannable, easier to read and reread selectively important parts, and listening to code is not useful.

6·2 months agoI remember saying video on youtube, a guy said his Toyota doesn’t recognize his face in sunglasses and shows persistent warning message on the screen. I don’t remember details, but possible that adaptive cc won’t work, or you can’t use infotainment due to the persistent message.

51·5 months agoThe user tracking is dodgy, yes but i can see it happening in any business where developers are clueless yes men.
As for pay wall countermesures I can see how some person in Trump org not being happy about the links in the app being pay walled and asked the dev to remove the popups which they did without question.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•might be a form of Jevons Paradox
203·6 months agoPCs aren’t faster, they have more cores, so they can do more at a time, but it takes effort to optimize for parallel work. Also the form factor keeps getting smaller, more people use laptops now and you can’t cheat thermal efficiency.

I like this. I also like yaml, I’ve had very few issues with it and it’s nicer to work with than json.
Json’s lack of support for trailing commas and comments makes it very annoying for everyday use.
Counterpoint: how do you even prove that any part of the code was AI generated.
Also, i made a script years ago that algorithmically generates python code from user input. Is it now considered AI-generated too?
Could be understood as “take these words, and write them out in alphabetical order”. It’s not specifically stated whether letters inside those words should also be sorted or not.
We take it for granted that we have so much experience communicating, we can infer the meaning without full instruction, but children are still acquiring this knowledge and sometimes take things literally with hilarious results.

X1 yoga 3rd gen, so around 2018ish. The stylus and thunderbolt are broken. And the mouse lags. I already wasted a lot of time troubleshooting it. I’ll try again in a few years, maybe it’ll be fixed.
