When I was a kid and we got back after a week vacation the house definitely smelled weird. As an adult visiting my parents when they’re home it doesn’t have that smell. But if my parents are away and I visit the house, the smell is back. Weird, but I get it that the air can get stale, especially since it’s an old wooden house

14·30 days agoThis propaganda was brought to you by Microslop. Seriously though, as there is with all propaganda there is likely some truth to it, but I think the majority are real users. The winds are changing, and Microsoft is afraid.

2·2 months agoIt was a hypothetical. If their product becomes unusable without them, I wouldn’t have considered their products particularly repairable. But I got my answer above, and I’m happy. Will consider a framework when my Thinkpad says goodnight.

18·2 months agoCan anyone educate me on this? What happens if the company goes bust? Can I still swap the CPU and GPU on it, or am I entirely relying on parts made by Framework?
I actually like both Bazaar and discover. I enjoy using them to just browse for interesting apps. For linux to ever become adoptable for more people, good GUIs are absolute must haves. If you don’t like them that is of course fine, but it serves the greater good to have the option of using them.

1·2 months agoYeah if I remember correctly, the villa where these scrolls were found housed stoic philosophers or something. It was also originally owned by Julius Caesars father in law.
I actually visited Herculaneum a couple of years ago. Pretty cool sight. You can see the charred wooden beams of this villa sticking out of the dirt cliff. When no one was looking I picked small a charred wooden bit off the ground. Probably shouldn’t have done that, but there were lots of these small pieces just lying there on the ground, and I couldn’t help myself.

1·2 months agoThat’s extremely disrespectful to the researchers who have built and trained the machine learning model. And the process of extracting useful data from a charred scroll. That’s a tremendous undertaking. AI is not just ChatGPT and LLMs.
Why can’t we discuss the Roman Empire in this thread?? Imagine the cool shit hidden in those scrolls
Norway isn’t america. Why the fuck are you defending a mass murderer? You can be critical of western society and policies without needing to defend the likes of Stalin. Hell you can even defend the Sovjet union without having to defend fucking Stalin
In my country people used to look up to Stalin. We are not biased by whatever American propaganda you were tought in school. Stalin was just as evil as Hitler. Suggesting anything else is madness.

Pffft amateurs. I’d just drink 3 litres of gasoline and shove a timed fuse down my throat. Everyone in the church will think satan is coming to get me
