Probably just a fluke.
Banning large corporations from owning residential rental property would fix a great number of problems simultaneously. Give them X amount of time to divest and watch affordable housing flood the market.

Technology@lemmy.world•Most new U.S. AI data centers are being built in drought zones — two-thirds of 809 planned projects set for areas with water shortagesEnglish
53·3 months agoData centers are Mako reactors from FF7. They’re sucking the lifeblood of the Earth to use it to speed up our destruction at the hands of cartoonishly evil megacorps.
And the promise the tech companies sold their investors on was to cut out the need for human workers and replace them with defective chatbots.

It’s all just so incredibly evil. Billionaires are a blight on all of humanity. From Epstein’s Island to this incredibly shortsighted gamble and all the ones before it. They’re greedy, evil, and stupid, while being entirely unchecked by basic critical thinking.
They are actively trying to doom us all for just a little more.

Now, they’re sitting on a trillion dollar house of cards. They’ll continue to fail upward. The correction will be delayed as they all move money between each other to cover bad investments.
At least Dutch tulips provided actual value. They could be planted and grow to be something real. LLM “AI” was always a scam.

15·6 months agoShatner and Nichols intentionally butchered every take that didn’t involve them kissing and made television history doing so.
I hope that moving forward Trek keeps that same spirit no matter how oppressive the new corporate regime may be.

The last two W3 DLCs were extremely good. They’re going to be motivated for this one. I just hope the no delays crowd and the needs to be perfect at launch crowds can work things out.
Spoiler alert: the no delays crowd is wrong.
