Oh no chemicals! We should indeed not consume chemicals, which is why starting today I will no longer consume anything that has water in it.

Two decades of “just learn to code bro”, will do that to a profession.

In reference to how socialism will truly come about, Marx literally criticized the kind of thinking that dominates left wing thinking nowadays.

No you can’t. It collapses on the weight of its own contradictions. Any imposition of socialism without the right material conditions is doomed.
Sometimes I wonder how many “Marxists” really have read Marx.

Ok but when did I ever say that they are equally bad or anything of the like? I said very specifically “the democrats are not any better in this respect”.
In this respect.
Once more: In this respect.
Reading comprehension.
Also partisanship of any kind is disgusting. Thats the real problem in American politics, the abhorrent tribalism fed by the two party system. No progress will happen while you continue to feed this system because both sides are not willing to solve the underlying root issues. Both just want to put bandaids on problems and continue to preserve their power. If the democrats know they will always have your vote no matter what, they have no reason to fix any issues. Which is why for the past few decades they have solved jack shit. So vote democrat but just like MAGA isn’t afraid to vote out their so called RINOs you should not be afraid to put a boot in the ass of democrats that only serve corporate interests.

I really resent the implication that democrats are any different in this respect.
Go to the gym.

Well the Xbox app that suspends Windows processes is a reaction to this threat. The threat not being Linux in general but SteamOS and Proton specifically. I don’t think anyone imagined it would be gaming that would usher in the era of Linux but it does seem that that will be the case.

This is 100% not the advice you are looking for, but if you don’t need the service to have a domain I would consider just using Tailscale. It’s pretty damn good.

Sir we do not make reasonable points in here, you’re supposed to hate AI irrationally and shut up.

I think the facial recognition bit of it is what makes it novel.
Under your argument the smartphone was not an innovation, it’s just a computer you carry in your pocket. And actually computers are not an innovation they are just calculators that can make a lot more calculations at one time.
It’s kind of disingenuous.

Is it really unoriginal? If it is patentable then it is as original as one can get in an already very developed technological market. I’m not saying I want this out there, but that doesn’t mean that what they are doing is wholly unoriginal, especially if no one has done it before.

I mean they are a bunch of things but I wouldn’t call them talentless.
There’s a little bit more nuance than that isn’t there? You can provide these things, but we still need to produce things right? Because we haven’t yet reached full automation. So the question is if we provide those things and a significant part of the population decide that they are happy with the minimum and thus they don’t want to work, and we start having massive labor shortages such that the goods needed to sustain the economy cannot be produced, what do we do? Well the only solution at that point is to make labor mandatory, and forced if the individual is noncompliant. Which is why the labor market as it exists is seen as the lesser evil. This is a bit of an oversimplification because I’m not looking to write an essay here but that covers the gist of why a liberal may oppose full on socialism.
For me, the imperative is achieving that automation. Only then is full socialism viable.

No. I wish that were the case though, then I wouldn’t have any reason to dislike them. But being that It isn’t the case, I’ll continue my campaign of hostility against gringos.

Bingo. Someone making 120k makes 5 times the median here. I know about 3 people of my age that own a house and 2 of them left for the US. The other one came from a well off family and was well connected. But the housing market is hot hot hot. And the supermarkets now do their promotions in English.
This is a common problem in the evaluation of almost everything I find. I always assume that any technology will improve with time whether in ways that are perceptible or imperceptible but increase efficiency. Most people seem to be unable to make that assumption and simply judge things as they are at the very moment. I guess it is somewhat pragmatic but it is unreasonable, every technology, even the most primitive we still find ways to improve.
In the sense of renewables, it will soon be common sense and economic reality that it is superior to non renewables, if not for the fact that extracting the resource is a much more passive and less labor intensive activity than extracting coal or oil out of the ground. We were held back by the cost of the tech but advances in efficiency and recycling of materials has made them the sensible economic choice.
But the oil mongers won’t go out without a fight: where I live they are putting a tax on the sun itself because imagine someone just being able to generate their own energy off the grid like that, anarchy!
