I know it’s an opinion piece but why lie. The author says salaries are the biggest cost driver. That is simply not true if you look at the marketing budget of any big game.

Also games should not be made quicker, they should be made slower. Quickly made games leads us to the slop of recent years. Games that are being baked for a dozen years however are of a higher quality, it’s like the good old days. Just because the industry says games should be quicker does not make that statement right.

They’re not unblockable.

Every now and then Twitch wastes money on circumventing adblockers, but a few weeks later ublock filters will be updated to block that again. I’m currently watching without any ads or third party add-ons besides regular uBlock.

It is a paid VPN luckily though. The issue is with “free” VPN browser add-ons.

There’s also different adblocker rules and extensions for twitch ads.

For some games and websites I have to turn it off yeah. Or at least switch the server to one that isn’t blocked.

It’s a shame that websites are allowed to track and block VPNs.

Never use VPN add-ons for your browser. Unless you get them along with your paid VPN. You should run your entire network through the VPN, not just a browser.

Calling bears predictable is something an overconfident documentary actor would do. A bear can at any moment decide to just rip you apart. Any “docile” zoo bear can still decide to just shred their keeper at some point.

But that’s enough about the metaphor. The point was choosing between certain death and a human with all the possibilities that entails.

It wouldn’t just be caution to choose death in that situation. It’s paranoia to assume that any random man will just do horrible things to you. Going through life with that paranoia is nothing a mentally healthy person would do. I would definitely blame a woman who really thinks like that. I don’t know about you, but unless you’re downloading a programm made for Windows 95, you can install anything without any trouble on Windows. Meanwhile Linux needs you to run a bunch of commands every time and half the time the commands from the download page don’t work because they’re for some specific distro only and you gotta look up different ones.

I find the “it just works” line ironic.

Because that’s usually what Windows has going for it. Meanwhile any Linux distro I’ve tried so far has me search for how to install a specific thing and try 5 different results, because of course the command to copy&paste on the first few doesn’t work. Doesn’t help that most sites and people tell you to install software this way instead of using some software centre / app store where you just click on an install button.
