3·15 days agoI can scarcely tell the difference between 2160p and 1440p, and 1440p and 1080p unless I’m actively looking, though I am in my fifth decade so my eyes aren’t what they used to be. I’ve found lower resolution with better settings to generally be better than the converse.
I’ve been using a 3080 for years and plan to keep using it until it goes to meet my Voodoo 5 in the great recycling bin in the sky. I’m lucky enough to have a second x16 slot so I picked up a 100€ used GPU for LSFG. Instant doubled frame rate, so now I’m good through 2035.

Right on! I’ve been using a refurbished t14s for years. Which one did you catch?
Edit: nvm, I see it’s a T480. Solid choice!

When I lived in the States back in '04, I took a 0.25 mile ambulance ride with no medical services provided. They didn’t even take my blood pressure. I was charged almost $7500 and paid nearly $700 after insurance. That’s about… $1400 in 2026 USD!
If you can meet the word count using views you oppose, you can also meet the word count arguing against those views.
Do you mean for an ICE to EV conversion? You can already buy such kits.

My Nan was a faithful Yahoo user from her first WebTV right up to her death. I imagine she’d be exchanging all caps emails still if we’d buried her with a laptop.

Technology@lemmy.world•Wikimedia Foundation refuses voluntary union recognition, hires union-busting law firmEnglish
43·1 month agoI was initially 80/20 against/for Wikipedia’s stance. I tentatively agreed with Wales’ criticism of identity tracking for the initial vote, but needed more information to form a solid opinion. Then I saw the mention of their hiring a union busting firm in addition to their current relationship with a known union busting law firm.
Fuck them, 100%. I immediately cancelled my ongoing monthly donation, which I’ve provided for years. Until the Wikimedia Foundation recognizes their unionized employees and works with them in good faith, they will get not a penny from me

I’m not talking about you. I’m talking TO you about the person you’re responding to.
