this is an EXTREMELY privileged statement to say. But, just for fun, I’ll play along with you.

If I were to take public transportation to the nearest public library leaving right now I would walk 2 hours and 5 minutes. I would then wait 19 hours and 39 minutes for the next train. I would then walk 34 more minutes. I would then wait about an hour for it to open.

once I am done getting what I need, let’s say it takes me 30 minutes, I will walk 34 minutes, then wait 6 hours and 4 minutes for the train to come back. I then would walk 2 hours and 5 minutes back to my house.

that is, 12:40 + 2 hours 5 min + 19 hours 39 min + 34 min + 1 hour + 30min + 34 min + 6 hours 4 min + 2 hours 5 min

or,

32 hours and 31 minutes

or I could drive 35 minutes there and 35 back, including the time for traffic.

We have no busses, the trains are >2 hours away, Republicans blocked the idea of making trams around the City, and I DONT EVEN HAVE SIDEWALKS FOR A LOT OF IT.
