Thank you, my vpn is always running whether I’m on their wifi or mine.
When I’m in a store and the employee tells me, “Just install our app!”, I ask for their wifi password. I’m not going to pay for my data to help them do their job.
Still looking for a feature phone that has everything I need and no rubbish I don’t.

Technology@lemmy.world•If Phones Are Killing Pedestrians, Why Is It Only Happening in America?English
11·4 months agoIn Australia, it’s illegal to use a phone while driving. (Although police aren’t hesitant to hand out fines and penalties, people do still use their phones while driving). There is also a cultural recognition and discouragement towards phone use while driving which is slowly changing accepted behaviour, similar to the slow change away from tolerating and encouraging drunk driving over the past few decades.

91·8 months agoJust laugh and move on. It’s not going to happen.
These people have no idea what they’re talking about. They think that the developers of four hundred Linux distros, FreeDOS, Haiku, *nix, the BSDs, are even going to bother trying. Then you have industrial boxen running obsolete operating systems, routers, all the network devices that run the internet.
EDIT: and then every application that runs on every platform also needs to be updated. Like that’s going to happen.
If they really cared about the children, they would just physically cut the cables at the Colorado border. That’s the only way that any sort of access control can be enforced.
