56% German, 31% Autistic.
As a Kiwi who has never been to Germany; seems interesting. I am an engineer though; so maybe that increases my German-ness somewhat.
Taught my boy to play connect 4. Had to start paying attention to by the time he was 7, by now (10) he is a challenge to beat, often just draw.
I have to try to win chess now also. It is great.
My 11yo nephew is a challenge to beat in chess, I think I’ll probably not win next time we play.
My 7yo can read music, I can’t… It is the way of the world.

kg
1500lb would be ~680kg; that is serious race car territory. Not road legal these days; but a 1975 Fiat 500 weighed 500kg.
Many years ago, I had a 1992 Honda civic hatch; after looking it up; weighed 925kg.
Must be a bit after my kids TV years…
Cheers. I never saw it in NZ…maybe I’m too old.
Blackadder. 4 seasons of perfection.
What show is this?
Is it kid (7-12yo) friendly?
Rewatch every 8 years or so. Still good after the 3rd re-watch this year.
FFS.
Lock out, tag out; and prove test prove. These are the simple rules that will keep you alive.

ultracold gases have observed bubble nucleation and Schwinger-like pair production during controlled false vacuum decay
That is an issue if someone figures out how to do actual vacuum decay! Rather than simulate it in ultracold gasses.

I’m not sure why you are getting down votes.
The reasons fur the demand sick, but you are correct, demand is fast outstripping supply… Price rises are inevitable.
I use windows at work, I have local admin which removed a lot of friction for a more technical user.
But the difference between my home machines (18 years Linux) and my work machine is friction. Windows makes things hard, it is always a few extra clicks or a stupid reg key change.
E.g. recently wanted my full right click menu back on win11, no nice setting option. Go edit this unnamed registry key, it seemed so janky in a modern os.
I’m a long time Mint user, jumped around a fair few distros but mint works well for me. It is so polished compared to windows, it seems crazy it is the free one.

The way to eliminate the risk is a lot more complex tracking wise but worth it for the risk reduction.
Effectively using spread focus tracking; multiple lower powered lasers provide the power to destroy the mosquito but no single laser has enough energy to damage your eye.
It would require extremely accurate positioning and pointing of the lasers and most likely two cameras for the tracking to get accurate distance to target. I thought of this years ago…but never really cared enough, I live in an area with no mosquito issues.
The best is:
the one that allows me to run the software I want to run

I vote “schlopp summoning”

The hands of fate are kind today.

If I got an old kindle; how easy is it to jailbrake it and install a better system?
I started when it was still called TextSecure, I had precisely 1 contact (just my nerdy friend from uni) for the first 3 years. I then convinced my partner to install it, had 2 contacts for the next few years.
When it became Signal, a few more jumped on. Once I had kids; I bullied my family onto it, by refusing to send photos any other way.
I have 62 contacts now, the bulk of my digital communication is through either Signal, phone, email or Lemmy. There is a little SMS/RCS.
It has been a 15 year journey so far, for me. You will get there.
