I’ve talked to a deltachat dev about this, and the signal protocol is simply technically superior to autocrypt (used by deltachat, etc.). It gives you many more guarantees about things like forward secrecy. There is standardization work to bring these benefits to autocrypt, but it will probably be a while. Signal also has the benefit of having a familiar setup for non-techy people, so it is easier to get people to use in my experience.

I am acquainted with a blind person that seemed to be pretty happy with that functionality. LLMs are a whole other issue, but this is a legitimately helpful use case for some people.

I had a very similar experience on campus a couple years back, Indiana is not the place to be.

All you have to do is switch the storage to AHCI mode in BIOS. Windows has to have a special driver for it too in RAID mode, at least as of last time I tried to install it on a dell.
