Damn cool. Which bank, if you don’t mind me asking?

PR statements always make me think of the sample sentence “I never said you did that,” which can have different implications depending on which word is emphasized.

Lol same, my watch has congratulated me many times for reaching an hourly or daily step goal while I’m driving.

I have an Omron step counter, which is pretty accurate. Later on I got a smart watch (Pixel watch 3) which always counts far more steps than the Omron, like as much as 20% more. I assume it’s because it’s on my wrist, which moves a lot more than my hip, where the Omron is. And if it factors steps into calculating calories burned, it absolutely is going to be wrong.

Even if you like the non boring appearance, the quality of the build is, to my understanding, terrible. Sharp edges on the steel, unevenly aligned everything, corrosion, the giant wiper gets too much stress and fails, etc.

Plus it’s always prompting you to get their app if you scroll down a half a page in old.reddit on your phone. You can get around this by setting desktop mode but I’m sure they’ll figure out a way to get around that too.
Facebook does the same thing by breaking features that worked in the browser to try to force you to their app. Sucks

Time zone has no info about where I actually am. Sure, I’m in a particular vertical slice of the earth. I have the JP keyboard downloaded, but you’re wrong, that doesn’t mean I speak Japanese. In fact, I speak French but your cookie reading didn’t pick that up.
It is genuinely interesting what info gets passed to websites but the doomy tone is rather silly and will unnecessarily worry people who don’t know much about computers/Internet, which is the majority of users.

Yes, I’ve done that.

I’ve found it impossible to run apps from APKpure. Google Play gets in the way, stops the app from startup because “it might be malicious” and does not give you the option to run it anyway. I have sideloaded apps and run into the same problem. I’d read you can disable Google Play Services to get around it, but the apps themselves require it. These are just Japanese escape games, nothing sketchy.

I spent a few sessions in court last year and they disallow all phone use except for the attorneys and other officials.

I’ve ridden in Waymos in SF a few times and I liked the fact that they drive like a granny. If they’re changing programming I won’t want to ride.

And, unfortunately, a 900 page TOS guarantees that the average consumer never reads it.

"Instead of physically jailing prisoners, Optimus could “follow you around and stop you from doing crime,” he said
This is going to last all of 30 seconds as that is the amount of time it’ll take for a criminal to hop a cyclone fence and take off never to be seen again. Or we can have the 10 minute scenario where criminal and friends take sledgehammers to the thing and sell it for scrap.

I think coding a contingency for loss of internet connectivity has got to be as basic as preventing Little Bobby Tables from deleting your data.
Alas I’m just a poor slob in the former colony called the United States, presently run by an idiot wannabe dictator.
