If it’s the body then AI is helping you (the head) to do hard tasks which probably fits your definition of a cyborg. If it’s the head as in the reverse centaur, then you (the body) are doing all the work underneath for AI model.

I think the argument is that at this point the use of AI has been found to be more useful for tasks that’s managers and bosses perform than more technical tasks that would be assigned to employees underneath them. And if those managers were replaced by AI then you would have a tireless manager overseeing workers doing more difficult work that do tire out but are expected to keep up with demands from the management.

Unfortunately, I think you’re projecting a bit. He’s had interviews stating that he has issues with “both” sides, so from what I can find he seems centrist in his views. Also, he’s now a part of FUTO which has hosted him as a speaker alongside others with alt-right tech personalities.

From my perspective, I think he fits the burned out IT professional archetype that is tired of all the BS today, but as far as activism I think he’s pretty much only focused on right to repair. Anything beyond that seems to not be in his scope of interest. But to be honest, I would be happy to be proven wrong.

That’s fair. Authoritarianism across the board is inherently anti-free and will give rise to enshittified or unsecure software given enough time. We’re not only dealing with bigots that can’t stand living on the same planet as others they don’t understand, but also those that want strict authority and enforcement.

But who is checking? Last I read, these laws were created in a few states as a preventative measure against potential Federal laws that could push these issues even further. I haven’t heard of any enforcement plans to date or anything about how it should report, just “add age verification to operating systems.”

A surprising amount of people in the open source community lean alt-right including the lead dev of systemd, some of FUTO, and others like hyprland, etc. Others like the actual dev that committed the age field code to systemd state they are apolitical but in reality are actually enabling those that want to do harm.

Logseq leverages centrally hosted databases while obsidian works directly from files and directory structures. There should be a way to import individual files but I’m not sure if it will parse your entire vault.

It’s either those involved with planning the construction are aware of and scale to account for the impact of the ecosystem and population surrounding their project, or they don’t and plot a gigantic building with no environmental accountability. You can do an environmental impact assessment and follow it or you can choose to ignore it or half ass it; it’s pretty cut and dry to me.

I think AI granting the ability for nearly anyone to easily manipulate short videos in a way that looks realistic might be where it comes into the picture.

Having video evidence of everything you do is just unsettling at the very least if you ask me.

It said a preview was available for thousands of dollars but the full database is selling for hundreds of thousands. That seems more realistic for risk & storage/hosting costs.
