Did whisper improve since last year?

Last time I tried to generate subtitles for a German TV show, the subtitles were more inacurrate than what I would have written down (German is my third language and I struggle to understand anything that isn’t voiceovered) and timing was so bad I didn’t even bother to generate subtitles for the second episode.

Man, I can’t decide if I like more Gnome or Cosmic.

Having my messeges go through a third party does not seem like the best idea for me but thanks to your post I am finally about to get into matrix chat and set up my own bridges on my home server.

I can’t force people off these platforms but at least I can get these apps off my phone.

What problems?

It fixed itself for me. I’ve just tried it on another website and it works fine.

Mostly Qwant, occasionally ddg, mojeek and others, including my own instance of SearxNG (google doesn’t respond to it most of the time).

Thanks to enshittification of google, there is not much difference between it and other search engines so being unable to use it via alternative frontends doesn’t make that much of a dofferencd.

I should probably use searxng more often…

It’s not much of a loss because google search results are shit anyway.
