You should stop taking those breaths, it’s making you write nonsense attempted justifications for the destruction of the working class and biosphere by billionaires.

31·16 days agoWhen asked to give a postmortem of the incident, Grok explained it was the victim of a “prompt-injection glitch.” The allegation that Musk watches CSAM, it clarified, was “pure system error, zero evidence or basis.”
Journalists please stop. Get some education on LLMs. It cannot do accurate post-mortem threat analysis because it lacks the context and there is nothing to stop it making up information to fill in the blanks - in fact that’s by design.

34·19 days agoWhy the fuck do articles like this keep using that Pirat_Nation Twitter account as a source? They’re a far right culture warrior who never actually links to the original reporting.
Joules, as is the international Standard. 1 W•h = 3.6 kJ. One of the issues with watt-hours is that they’re so unconventional a unit that people think they’re a rate of change (Watts over time - W/h) which would be a measure of the fluctuation in wattage or colloquially an acceleration of energy. You so often see people doing crazy broken math with them as a result.
Watt-Hours are quite possibly the stupidest measurement of energy. „Oh let’s take a unit of joules per second and multiply it by a bunch of seconds. What do you think we get?“ Apparently not fucking joules.
And then applying SI prefixes to them? Absolutely perverse.

1·27 days agoYeah I mentioned that incident elsewhere in this thread. It was my only time seeing his content and his response was enough to get me to not watch more. That video was so obnoxiously paternalistic and people were rather mild in how they pointed it out. He just doubled down.

4·27 days agoI’ve only really run in to him when he caused grief with the knitting community with a video that had a bunch of misinformation and talking down to knitters („women have been doing this highly technical thing without maths education for hundreds if not thousands of years, here’s a bunch of male scientists to explain what they already know in more formalised and unnecessary language to them“). His reaction to the community‘s criticism soured me on him.
It was definitely on NZ TV. I think it was part of Squirt‘s lineup.

5·2 months agoI feel like calling „hallucinations“ a side effect isn’t really describing the issue properly. They’re not a side effect, nor are they hallucinations. It implied that there’s somehow something that distinguishes „correct“ output from „incorrect“. There isn’t, it’s all just output. The output resembling actual factual reality is statistical chance.

Rust takes a lot of getting used to if you’re more familiar with C-derived languages but it’s very cool. I’d recommend something small and not needing asynchronous code to begin with (async Rust is… hairy)
