You understand your whole post is because capitalist systems have always fought to deny resources to communist-leaning systems, right?

So for example, the problems Cuba is facing right now aren’t problems with communism but a problem with the fascist dictatorship next door working to deny it resources.

When you’re being starved by a kidnapper, your own personal finances aren’t your primary problem.

  • In the U.S. they use deception to make it unclear how many servings are in a container.

And they’ll do this in multiple different ways. They’ll do things like selling you a single candy bar and claiming that it has like 8 different servings, but the amount that each serving is supposed to be isn’t set by any standard, so one company may have the serving be a whole bag, one may be half a bag, one may be like 1/4.7 of a bag(and yes, they’ll literally say there are 4.7 settings in a bag).

And they might sell you an teeny tiny individual bag of chips and claim that a serving is like 1.87 chips.

I bought a snack food a while back, and it was a very small container, but the nutrition information was listed deceptively to imply that it had 180 calories. In the store, the bag was next to multiple similar foods that all had roughly the same health information and were all about 200 calories. I am health conscious and I checked the calories and saw that it had 180 calories. So I tried it, and I liked it, and bought it fairly regularly for about two months(and by that, I mean about once a week).

After about two months, I happened to notice that the serving size listed for this product wasn’t the same as the other foods next to it on the shelves, but that instead the serving size was about 1/3 the serving size of the similar products. I found out I’d been eating 540 calories per bag, when literally all of the similar products on the shelf next to it had 200 calories per whole bag. The servings for the others were one per bag, but for this product, there was no indication that the bag wasn’t a single serving.

And I wish that they’d use SI units, but they don’t.

People in the U.S. have trouble searching for information for the nutritional value of the food, and companies intentionally lie, trick, and deceive, and then some are also very direct in making things completely ridiculous.

Yeah, it should be illegal to list serving sizes that disconnected from reality. They should be MANDATED to have the first column list the nutrition information for the container as a whole, and then let them put whatever ridiculous lie, but it should only be allowed in a second column, that I can ignore after seeing the first column that shows what the container actually contains.

Gay people are doing literally nothing to interact with you or force their gayness on you.

You, on the other hand, took time out of your busy day to complain about them in a way that makes it known to A LOOOT of people that you dislike them and have problems with them.

    That’s called spreading hate.

    And spreading hate is

    the

    entire

    problem.

  • On GrapheneOS, you can also set a “second factor PIN” in the unlock settings under “Fingerprint Unlock”, so that to unlock your screen you need to first use the fingerprint unlock and then separately enter your PIN. This means BOTH are required every time you unlock. Your phone can’t be unlocked unless it’s your finger AND unless you enter the PIN that only you know.

And under the Screen Lock settings you can also enable “Scramble PIN input layout”, so that the number buttons on your unlock screen will be out of order, so people watching you or recording you can’t just make note of the shape your index finger is making when touching the numbers to unlock your phone(like people looking over your shoulder or recording on store security cameras).

  • I’ve long suspected that the reason so many things evolve into crab-like shapes is because the microorganisms in a given environment actually influence how DNA gets written, and that the macroorganism is not actually evolving independently, but is actually an ecosystem.

My idea would explain why those animals that live around us start to develop traits which are like ours-- not that the traits that define us are actually our traits alone, but that they are traits which come from the microorganisms that we pick up from the environment and which breed like crazy within us and then which get pooped out into our environment and multiply and go into other animals.

And I’ve given a lot of consideration of what this means for doing things like washing your hands.

It’s really interesting to read stories like this, because it matches up with what I had suspected.

  • Christians frame things as “All of the Christians are sitting here in one group, and all of the non-Christians are sitting over there in a different group.”

And that’s fine. It’s absolutely true.

And if God exists and is the creator of the universe, that’s pretty good for the Christians, and pretty bad for everyone else.

But if God doesn’t exist, then the Christians are just all together in a group that isn’t getting to enjoy their existence while the rest of the world is just trying to enjoy theirs, and the Christians are just trying to prevent those other people from enjoying their lives.

Either way, I’m surprised that the creator of the universe would organize things so that it would look that way from the outside.

  • I switched to OpenOffice.org(now LibreOffice) when Microsoft replaced menus with ribbons.

And I switched from Google to DuckDuckGo after being a Google user from nearly the very beginning, because they tried to claim earlier this week that they couldn’t prove I was over 18 years old unless I provided them my legal identification.

Thanks Google, I can’t imagine how the fact that I’ve physically been using your product and logging into the account for more than 20 years would leave any question in your mind that I’m over 18 years old, but you do you.

    No regrets with LibreOffice. None.
