Either way, I prefer Cavatappi over elbow mac if I had a choice in the matter. It holds on to the cheese soooooo well.

It really depends on the recipe. The most basic is just regular mac and cheese with extra cheese on top and broil to color on top. Don’t want to overdo it.

Some like having extras for toppings aside from cheese such as crackers, cheez-its, bread crumbs, or even hot cheetos.

Often times the mac and cheese mixture is fortified to enhance creaminess or help prevent breaking the sauce from the heat. This can be in the form of additional cheese folded in (grated cheeses or cream cheese chunks folded in, or including some sodium citrate like american cheese, velveeta, or granules to smooth out the cheese. Some recipes even call for addition of eggs before baking. There is a risk of over baking which can lead to noodles soaking up too much sauce which can lose the saucy texture and become dry, or end up breaking the sauce and end with an oily mess.

I saw an interview with the founders not too long ago. It’s golf ball sized, soft/firm thing and it’s designed to be pushed in. I’ll leave the details out, but it is engineered to dissolve after a few hours. It’s meant as a way to bypass douching prior to the act.

Yeah that’s weird. I tried to replicate it; it worked for a little while, then the game window just auto minimizes every time I try to alt tab it. I end up running my game in Windowed mode mainly so that I can see my task bar at the top and don’t experience problems that way.

I believe it was Gamescope. It’s been a while but I just looked it up again and you’ll need to add “–force-grab-cursor” in one of the fields.

I’ve switched from win 10 to mint for an old i9900k and 1080 to run Helldivers 2 and it worked so well I put it on my newest rig to replace it (9800x3d RX 9070xt) with little to no problems. It does take a little while to get things tailored to how you want. The bios clock keeps being off (but OC settings remain) so maybe the battery is dying already. Been putting off replacing it since it’ll require a bit of disassembly.

I then tried Bazzite on the i9900k and ran into a couple problems. Multiple monitors pose issues with the mouse not staying on the game and requires an applet or app to keep it contained (no issues with Mint). HD2 runs the same performance but it stutters every second or two, making it unplayable. I’ll have to see if I can troubleshoot some more or try a different distro.

Regarding alt tab, are you on multiple screens or just one?

Made butter today for the first time. Wasn’t difficult but it took some time, not a lot.

Half gallon (64 oz/1892ml) carton of 40% heavy cream from Costco makes 1 quart (32 fl oz) of buttermilk and about 2 pounds of butter by eye (didn’t scale to confirm). It all fits in a 5 quart KitchenAid mixer for the churning.

In theory, this is how it should work, but is often not the case.

If you just buy interoperable components without taking into consideration if they’re compatible, you’re running a risk of things not fitting.

What immediately comes to mind is GPU clearance to the case, as well as to the CPU cooling solution. The CPU cooler may not also fit the MOBO you want to use, protrude too much in the case, or have clearance problems with RAM. RAM could fit, but may need to be low profile accommodate the CPU cooler. Power supplies nowadays aren’t as straight forward in compatibility as they used to, since some GPUs may require a special plug(s).

Once that’s sorted, you can assemble like a Lego set, until something doesn’t work. You’re your own support person, so you need to know how to troubleshoot correctly. Did you switch the power supply on? Are the components seated properly? What do the debug LEDs say?

I’m no beginner PC builder, but my current build (first AM5 system) was a nightmare. Everything worked beautifully until I seated the GPU, which was the last item to arrive. MOBO debug LED said VGA issue and no output. Long story short, and two AM5 builds instead of one, it turned out to be a faulty CPU (9800X3D).

Had I gone with what the Internet forums suggested, and with no other AM5 system available to verify, I would have sent the GPU back and still have the issue. Luckily AMD RMA process is pretty straight forward (don’t throw away your boxes until some time after you’re done with the build!) The new CPU worked as expected, but that was the first time I’ve ever had an issue with a CPU. It worked fine via on-board HDMI, but no GPU in any possible configuration with the faulty CPU using two PCs worth of components would provide output. Everything is good now, and a family member made out with a decent 7800X3D system as a present :)

The pair of 2x16 DDR5 6000 TEAMGROUP I bought back in April was $90 from Amazon. According to pcpartpicker, pricing started trending upwards late September, which Newegg still had it at $89 (9/30/25; B&H @ $109). The same pair at B&H is currently $439 (12/21/25) and MemoryC is asking $596. It’s insane.

You don’t even have to do that to get served foreign ads. If you search on country specific search sites long enough, it’ll eventually bleed over to your native feed.
