That’s why I decided to build my first online multi-player game as an offline single-player game, and just figure out how to add the networking stuff when everything else is done- an architectural choice I definitely won’t come to regret later…

We already did. The ‘human and AI’ section is dbzer0, the human only contents and posts section is the rest of the fediverse, and the mainly-AI section is the entire publicly traded corpo / normie internet, which is the same thing as the ‘dead internet’ but hasn’t quite realized it yet.

3·13 days agoThe issue is even if it gets to where they are giving those surplus AI servers away for free there is no way in physics they will ever be ‘dirt cheap’ to power, or to keep cool, and that limits their reusability by normal working-class humans. ( Free Great Dane puppies! Just never mind how much dog food you’re going to be buying… )
