  • Most are indoctrinated in dualistic thinking and kept that way and taught it’s dumb to learn, so they don’t try to learn more and advance to higher thinking levels. Maybe they get to both sides have some points, but then fall back to whatever their tribe says. They could choose to think critically, use Sagan’s baloney detection kit to weigh proven evidence to make real convictions, not just repeat the brainwashing, and remain open to new data. That’s what all adult and responsible voter should do. It’s not that hard, but so many prefer the tribal identity they cling to and crave and won’t leave it. They could vote one way and say another, since it’s no one’s business to ask anyway, or have integrity and stand up for liberty and justice for all.

  • Using llms to summarize and learn information can be really useful, but check sources, just like you should for other online tools, and at the library too. The same best practices apply to this and education is important for proper tool use, like with anything, understand how to use it right. Lots of morons use tools wrong and cause problems and fatalities, doesn’t mean the tool should be banned. Learn how to use tools right is an old lesson.

A majority of people have been convinced of many different things, many times, but that doesn’t make any of them true or good. Unchecked, open weight, charging to protect from itself and accelerationist ideas don’t sound good, and it should be used for good and peace, so don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, another old one lol.

  • Mr. Money Mustache’s latest post is about this and I hope is right. Basically he thinks it will not destroy retirement, viewing market panic as a recurring historical pattern driven by fear rather than fundamental economic ruin. Instead of reacting to macroeconomic anxiety, he emphasizes that true wealth stems from human productivity and resilience, suggesting individuals ignore the news cycle and focus on personal financial habits. Also recaps the basics so a great reatd. We can do it one step at a time to increase freedom!
