12·2 months agoHad someone in school forget to take a pencil out of their hair during gym class and flipped onto a mat and drove it about 2 inches into their neck. Screaming, blood, ambulance, all of it. So umm…yeah. I can’t help but cringe when I see this after that experience.

These are just the first two that popped into my head. If I cared to actually research it I’m sure I’d find a lot more.
To name an old example… Margaret Hamilton who is credited with coining the term ‘Software Engineering’ and helped write the flight control software for the Apollo Moon missions.
A more recent example would be Katie Bouman who helped develop the CHIRP algorithm that took an absolutely massive amount of data from radio telescopes to generate an image of a black hole.
