I honestly wish there was a way to consistently do something like the command key on linux, it’s so nice to have desktop shortcuts not conflict with your terminal. Haiku does it as well, they use alt.

Use OBS to capture your screen and manipulate it however you want and then use its virtual camera feature as your webcam for the meeting. If you want both your face and screen you could easily do a facecam in the corner in obs

I bought an old laptop to install libreboot on and I’ve been messing with Gentoo. I see the appeal now that I’ve tried it. It took me a couple days to compile librewolf but assuming your laptop isnt from 2013 I imagine things would build a lot faster for you
