DisplayPort can speak HDMI too, so cheap passive adaptors and straight through cables are possible from DisplayPort connectors. So a USB-C port can fling HDMI signals and theoretically a tv can have usb-c ports for everything except maybe power which would exceed spec. I don’t know if I hate this idea or not.
