I recently reread Eragon and Eldest which I loved as a kid. I thought it was so cool to flip to the back of the book to read elf and drawf translations. This time I found it gimmicky and annoying lol

I used to think this way. But I wouldn’t ever consider it anyone’s fault for being robbed or attacked because they were too weak or unprotected. Then why did I blame people for not being the smartest in a social interaction? Scammers are often times trickier than people like to think. It’s hardly ever “just send me your money”.

I just got the show but haven’t watched it yet. There are some YouTube videos of his that predate the television series that I have seen though. I think it was a 4 part series where he goes to the Amazon to search for a frog that makes him trip out.

You’re not wrong but I feel like getting rid of discs helps move things in the opposite direction. Yes it was licenses even with discs, but now we truly can’t resell or trade.

The issue isn’t that the game doesn’t fit on one disc. The issue is that without a disc, the games can’t be resold, rented, or lended. The disc is effectively a DRM check.

Some of the Wendy’s near me have AI drive thru systems. One of them stopped offering the 4-for-4 deal. Their AI menu shows an item code next to each item you order. I found the code for the 4-for-4 meal and went to the location that stopped offering it. I asked for [item code] and the AI rang it up. The employees who understandably don’t give a shit did their best to make it for me haha

That’s a strange take. If you wake up tomorrow and the price of groceries go up 200% would you just say “people are freaking out that paid food is paid”?

I thinks I’m in a town 2 hours south of where I’m at, but it got the time zone wrong by three hours.

When I worked at the deli at publix (south eastern US grocery chain) I regularly boxed extra chicken wings, didn’t upcharge for sandwich addons, etc. Publix already sells everything at an insane markup. They’re famous for their weekly BOGO deals, but the price per item is still nearly double that of the next closest store. Like most retail jobs, I never got paid enough to care.

You don’t think any of the adults that create said books are fans of their own and each others works? Surely they aren’t all working in an industry in which they loathe all of the work they are doing or think it is all so beneath them.

I’m mostly responding to the idea that it is shameful to enjoy reading books that are far beneath the level one should be able to read at. Would the same apply to the adults that write children’s books?

Even if we can accurately identify something as being for children, that something would likely have been produced by very passionate adults, and approved by other adults for publication. Do these adults get a pass from being shamed for their interest in children’s content?

How does one accurately identify something as being specifically for children and children only?
